About Me

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51832), licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences since 2012.  I have specialized in adolescent psychotherapy for more than 15 years and am currently in private practice full-time.

After I graduated from my Masters program in 2001, I was a family therapist for a national mentoring program. This work helped teenagers reunify with their families after living in wilderness and therapeutic boarding school programs.  From 2008 - 2017, I served as the regional director and clinical supervisor in Northern California. I provided clinical supervision for all staff while continuing to lead individual and family sessions.

As for trainings and practices, I gravitate towards somatic and contemplative therapeutic approaches.  For the past 6 years, I have studied with Thomas Hübl to deepen my understanding of individual, intergenerational and collective trauma. My therapy leans heavily on the principles of Gestalt Awareness Practice (GAP) after participating in long term study groups. I am certified in attunement-focused EMDR and completed a 2 year training in prenatal and birth psychotherapy with Dr. Ray Castellino.

My interest in being an adolescent therapist began when I was a teenager.  I felt alone and often overwhelmed by the pressures of life and changing landscapes of adolescence; I was a creative and angry teenager.  I started seeing an individual therapist when I was 15 and it helped me make sense of myself and the life I wanted. It felt like a natural next step to study and practice psychotherapy in the hopes of welcoming the next generation of young people to find out who they really are.
