About Me

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51832), licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences since 2012.  I have specialized in adolescent psychotherapy for more than 15 years and am currently in private practice full-time.

After I graduated from my Masters program in 2001, I was a family therapist for Vive Family Support Program, a nationwide program offering wrap-around services for adolescents and families in crisis.  From 2008 - 2017, I served as the regional director and clinical supervisor in Northern California. I provided clinical supervision for all staff while continuing to lead individual and family sessions.

As for trainings, teachings and practices, I gravitate towards somatic and contemplative therapeutic approaches.  Gestalt Awareness Practice (GAP) has been foundational for the therapy I offer and I continue to hone my GAP skills through long-term training and study groups. I am certified in EMDR and completed a 2 year training in prenatal and birth psychotherapy with Dr. Ray Castellino.  I have been a guest lecturer for Master level graduate students at Saint Mary’s College of California and continue to speak at parents’ groups around the Bay Area.

The impetus of my specialization began when I was a teenager.  I felt alone and often overwhelmed by the pressures of life and changing landscapes of adolescence.  I started seeing an individual therapist when I was 15 and the experience helped me make sense of myself and the life I wanted. I now understand how it created a trajectory for my professional path and why I love the work I do.
